PLACES TO VISIT IN MILAN | SAN GIOVANNI IN CONCA

Hello, how are you all? It's been a long time that I wanted to post some places where to visit here in Milan, and finally I'm starting it now, so that you may visit them too if ever you're coming here in Milan in the future.

THE CRYPT OF SAN GIOVANNI IN CONCA

At the center of Missori square stands the ruins of the ancient basilica of San Giovanni in Conca, distinguished record of history and art in Milan from the 5th to the 17th century, built in a residential Roman district from which fragments of mosaic floor are preserved at the Archaeological Museum. The church underwent reconstructions, mutilation, removal and demolition works until after World War II. The only remains today are some parts dating back mainly to the 11th century: the apse, which is reduced to ruins in the 20th century, and the entire crypt, the only one of this era preserved in Milan, where you can see Roman and medieval archeological findings.

More information about the Crypt of San Giovanni in Conca can be found here.

Entrance: piazza Missori.
Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday, from 9:30 until 17:30.
Free entrance.

I have always been told that you can visit Milan in a day, but I don't agree what they told me because there's so much to explore here!
Thanks for reading and visiting my blog, until next time then!
